Being an entrepreneur is not the ability to just sell something and make some money. It is a whole process on its own. It goes a lot deeper than just that.
Entrepreneurs have certain qualities in them that usually distinguish them from other individuals we’d highlight some of them here.
- Entrepreneurs are Profit-oriented individuals, they plan for growth, always have clear goals, there is major alignment with business and they have tight operations in place.
- Confidence is a major trait which entrepreneurs possess. Self-awareness, conviction in ability to succeed, action-oriented, pro-active. Truth is if you do not believe in yourself as an entrepreneur, who will?
- Creativity is a tool entrepreneurs must have. Firing off many ideas, curious, quick learner, exploratory, imaginative, alert are some of the traits exhibited.
- An entrepreneur understand that the TEAM is the DREAM. Without the perfect team you cannot actualize your dreams. Entrepreneurs collaborate, recognize and draw on people’s abilities as well as encourage team contribution.
- The road to success as an entrepreneur is not easy at all. One quality with is a must-have for entrepreneurs is DETERMINATION. Entrepreneurs are Persistent, eager to act, confront obstacles and are not deterred by roadblocks.
- Entrepreneurs are extremely independent individuals. Entrepreneurs have faith in self, enjoy multi-tasking, they are responsible, possess multiple competencies, and possess ‘can-do’attitude.
- As an Entrepreneur you will understand that Information is Power. Without knowledge as an entrepreneur you really cannot make it very far. Anticipate and use knowledge, drive for in-depth information and consider knowledge as an asset.
- Being an entrepreneur means that you must be a good promoter of yourself which inevitably means that you must be a good communicator. You must speak boldly, be a storyteller, an ambassador, be persuasive and very enthusiastic.
- As an entrepreneur you have to be able to take risks. Think about it, if you do not take risks how do you know if its going to or not going to work?Take incremental risks, cool off, map knowledge and scenarios, experiment systematically
